Individual Volunteer Opportunities
All our opportunities are unpaid volunteer positions. Most can be done primarily from home on your schedule. You don’t need to be an expert; we will show you what needs to be done.

There is no better way to learn about the VFC than to join us for deliveries and meet the veterans we serve.
Each Saturday morning a group of volunteers gathers at the warehouse, loads the trucks, and delivers furniture and household goods to needy veterans. No heavy lifting is required, as many items are small and lightweight.
We always need drivers for chase cars to follow the trucks. Everyone who has volunteered tell us what a great, heartwarming experience it is. Many volunteers come back again and again. Deliveries are usually completed by noon, so it doesn’t even take much of your day.
The warehouse is located at: 2319 W. Holly St, Phoenix
Any questions, contact our volunteer coordinator at: 623-236-5132
If you like planning parties this may be the perfect opportunity for you. This team works with our Event Coordinator to plan and organize future events. These include events at local restaurants, in partnership with local businesses, possible community events, and golf tournaments. Putting on events is both rewarding and fun, and it is an important part of our fund-raising activities to help our veterans
The VFC requires considerable funding each year, primarily to purchase the items our veterans need. The majority of this comes from grants from Foundations, Corporations, and Government agencies. Grants must be applied for through formal grant requests. The VFC is looking for one or two additional volunteers to work on our grant procurement team, researching grant opportunities, developing grant requests, and tracking grant applications. Experience preparing grant applications is helpful, but not required. Volunteers should have writing skills and be familiar with the use of on-line searches. Training in Grant Procurement will be provided. This function requires about 10-20 hours of volunteer time a month and can be done from home on your own schedule.
The VFC Events and Operations are rich in video story telling opportunities. The VFC has produced several videos in the past, some of which are posted on this website and our Facebook page. We are looking for a volunteer to develop, shoot, edit, and produce new, compelling videos for our website and social media outlets.
The VFC has a rudimentary Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/VFC2319. Our goal is to improve upon this and extend our outreach to other social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others. We need volunteers to work on a social media team to plan and execute an effective social media strategy for the VFC. Experience on one or more of these platforms and the ability to create compelling social media content is required.
With our expansion of volunteers, we need a volunteer to serve as the volunteer coordinator reporting to the Executive Director. This individual will maintain the contact list for all VFC volunteers, both those who hold regular volunteer positions and those who help out on occasion when needed. The Volunteer Coordinator will assist the Executive Team with defining and developing volunteer positions, recruiting, and coordination volunteer activities. The position requires a few hours a week on average and most work can be performed from home. Occasional attendance at meetings may be required.
