Who We Are
The Veterans Furniture Center is a veteran-run, volunteer based 501 c (3) fighting to end veteran homelessness in the Greater Phoenix area. We work with the VA and HUD-VASH to help transition veterans to a furnished home.
What We Do
With the help of our dedicated partners and volunteers we transform tiny apartments into livable homes by providing NEW essential household items, and NEW small-scaled furniture, given as a gift to fellow veterans in need.
You Can Help
If you donate to our Support a Veteran Program, 100% of your donation will go to buy furniture and household goods for our veterans. Volunteers are always needed in many capacities and no heavy lifting is required.

How We Do It
We deliver NEW small scale furniture and household goods to veterans screened by by the VA or one of five social service organizations that help veterans.
This includes: for the bedroom, a new bed to sleep on, a pillow on which to lay their head, bed linens, a small dresser, and a lamp; for the living area, a recliner, a small sofa or loveseat, and a small television so they can stay in touch with the world; for the kitchen, cookware and kitchen utensils so they can prepare a meal, dishes, cups, flatware, and glasses, a small table and two chairs to sit and eat, and a two-slice toaster and a small coffee pot to prepare breakfast at home; for the bath, bath linens and a personal hygiene kit; and finally an apartment cleaning kit.
Through selective purchasing, the ability to buy in bulk and warehouse items, and discounts from retailers, the VFC can purchase everything for under $1,000.
Given as a gift to fellow veterans in need this carefully selected furniture and household items helps transform a tiny apartment into a livable home.

Why We Do It
The VFC provides a complete kit of new furniture and household goods, free of charge to veterans who have nothing, and haven’t owned anything significant in a long time. They have struggled on the street and have made an effort and sought help from the VA or one of the great social service agencies in the Phoenix area that provides temporary shelter and rehabilitation.
Thanks to the Federal Government HUD-VASH program they are able to move from homelessness to permanent housing. But, we often find the veteran sleeping on the cold hard floor and without the necessary household items to prepare a meal or even make a cup of coffee. Left in these conditions, the veteran is highly likely to return to the street.
When we deliver new furniture and new household goods, we make their apartment into a home, giving the veteran who previously has had nothing, a sense of self-worth and hope for the future.
The message is clear: someone cares, someone is offering a hand up, someone has their back. It is not a government agency or an entitlement. It is fellow veterans who believe in them and want them to successfully return to society.
